After fifteen minutes of hard work, the layer of dirt was finally cleared, and the men stood silently for a moment, panting. They stared at a wooden hatch in the ground. “I knew it,” Henry whispered as he moved closer to wipe the last dirt of it. They were on the precipice of something extraordinary. With trembling hands, Henry and Tom reached for the handle of the old wooden hatch.
