The room was part of a larger two-story house, quaint and nestled amidst a grove of old oak trees, built brick by brick by her father some ninety years ago. This was her birthplace, her childhood home, and the place where she intended to live out her days. Her feet, once sprightly and swift, were now careful and measured as they navigated their way down the staircase.
