Open plain
John and the elephant soon walked side by side, and after a brisk walk of about half an hour, they arrived at an open plain in the middle of the dense forrest. There was a large feeding trough that locals had placed so that the elephants could eat and drink there in large packs without having to trample the entire forrest floor.
