African nights
As the night wore on, he thought he could hear the sound of footsteps near his tent. His heart pounded against his chest, and a cold sense of fear gripped him. Yet, he knew he had to stay put, hoping that the intruder, whatever it was, would move on. The morning found Douglas unharmed and with a sense of accomplishment. He had survived a night in the wilderness.
